SunGrabber - Tips and Tricks

  1. Did you know that during the hot months of summer, that your SunGrabber system can be used to cool your pool? Just run your system at night when the panels are not being heated by the sun. Pumping water through the cooler panels during the night hours can cool your pool for more refreshing swimming in the hotter months.

  2. How do I know if my system is running properly? If your panels are cool to the touch, then the heat is being transferred to the pool water and your system is working properly.

  3. What factors should I consider when installing my system? You can optimize the performance of your SunGrabber system by having the panels mounted at an angle (20-45 degrees) and facing south or southwest.

  4. If I want to install my solar system on my roof or a long distance from my pool, should I still use hose for the plumbing? We recommend that you use PVC pipe if you are installing your solar system on your roof or a long distance from your pool. PVC pipe is more sturdy and durable which will not only last longer, but can withstand strong winds and weather. Please contact the manufacturer of your pump to ensure it is adequate for your system set-up.
