adding solar to your gas Water Heater

A two-tank configuration is required for gas water heaters. The second tank, the solar storage tank, is used to hold water heated by the solar collectors through the heat exchanger. The warm, solar heated water is drawn through the water heater and into your home.

System options such as two or more solar collectors and a tempering valve, are available. Ask your installer which options are best for your household hot water needs.

Customers with electric water heaters and tankless water heaters require a different configuration.
